Managing and Tracking Product Sourcing Requests on Zendrop

Understanding and managing Zendrop sourcing requests.

Updated today

Zendrop’s product sourcing feature allows users to request new products and monitor their progress. This article explains how to track the status of your requests, interpret status messages, understand expected timelines, and resolve common issues.

Understanding Sourcing Request Statuses

When you submit a product sourcing request on Zendrop, it is assigned a status visible under the Request a Product section. Here’s what each status means:

  • Submitted: Your request has been received and awaits review by the Zendrop team.

  • In Progress: The sourcing team is actively working to find your product. This stage includes liaising with suppliers and may take some time depending on product complexity and supplier response times.

  • Add to My Products: The product has been successfully sourced, and it is available in your My Products tab for review. You can also proceed to publish it to your store.

  • Linked: The product has been sourced, reviewed, and published to your store.

  • Rejected: The product couldn’t be sourced due to issues such as an invalid URL or product restrictions. You will receive an email explaining the reason for rejection.

How to Track and Monitor Sourcing Requests

To track your sourcing requests:

  1. Log in to your Zendrop account.

  2. Navigate to the Request a Product section.

  3. You will see a list of your submitted requests along with their current statuses (e.g., Submitted, In Progress, Add to My Products). The Add to My Products status often indicates that sourcing has been completed for your most recent request.

If you cannot find your request immediately, ensure that you are searching through the correct section and verify its submission status.

Expected Timelines and Common Delays

  • Standard Timelines: Sourcing requests typically take between 12–24 hours, but in some cases, the process may take up to 48 hours. You will receive updates as the status changes.

  • Potential Delays: Several factors can influence delays, including requests submitted on weekends, holiday schedules, supplier availability, or high volumes of requests. Sourcing agents often coordinate with international supplier networks and require additional follow-ups. If sourcing is taking longer than usual, rest assured that your request is still being worked on.

How Notifications Work

Once your sourcing request is fulfilled, Zendrop will automatically send you an email with details about the product and its status (e.g., successfully sourced or rejected). Notifications are automated but ensure timely updates. If you have further questions, you can reach out to Zendrop support for assistance. Notifications are sent to the email address associated with your Zendrop account.

Common Issues and Recommendations

Delays in Processing

Processing times can be extended due to high demand, supplier unavailability, or complicated product specifications. In such cases, there is no need for immediate concern as Zendrop's sourcing team is diligently working to address your request.

It’s important to note that the process cannot be manually expedited, as all requests undergo thorough checks to ensure the best quality and pricing.

Rejections

If your sourcing request is rejected, it is usually due to problems like invalid product URLs or restrictions with specific suppliers. You will receive an email highlighting the reason so that you can correct and resubmit your request.

We also offer a public lookup page where you can quickly check the status of any product sourcing request. Simply click here to access it and enter your email address to view your request status.

Additionally, Zendrop does not source products directly from platforms like AliExpress or Temu. If a product cannot be manufactured by Zendrop’s partner factories, the request may not be approved or quoted.
