How Do Tariffs and Customs Duties Affect My Zendrop Orders?

Explains what's included in Zendrop's shipping costs (U.S. tariffs, EU customs duty), what isn't (VAT and local duties for most international destinations), and how to price accordingly.

Shipping internationally means different fees apply depending on where your customer lives. Here's exactly what Zendrop handles for you, what it doesn't, and how to factor it into your pricing.

U.S. orders: tariffs are already included

If you're shipping to the United States from China, tariffs are already included in the shipping cost Zendrop shows you. You won't see a separate tariff line, it's baked into the shipping fee displayed on both the Product and Orders pages.

You can preview the full cost, tariffs included, before committing to any order by creating a test order with the USA set as the destination.

Heads up: Tariff fees are shown as a tooltip under Shipping Cost in the order summary during fulfillment. Check it before you confirm.

EU orders: a flat $3.80 customs duty applies

Effective June 24, 2026, Zendrop automatically adds a $3.80 EU Customs Duty to every order shipping to any of the 27 EU member states. This is a pass-through of the EU's flat fee on low-value parcels.

  • It's charged once per order, regardless of the number of products or units.

  • It appears as its own line item at fulfillment, separate from product cost and shipping cost.

  • It's billed in USD even if you display prices in another currency.

  • It is not refunded if the order is refunded, it's a pass-through fee collected at fulfillment.

For the full breakdown of which countries are in scope and how the fee appears on your invoice, see EU Customs Duty on Orders Shipping to the EU.

All other international orders: duties are the customer's responsibility

For shipments outside the U.S. and EU, countries like Brazil, Nigeria, Canada, Australia, and others, Zendrop does not support Delivered Duty Paid (DDP) shipping. This means:

  • Local customs duties, VAT, and import taxes are not included in what you pay Zendrop.

  • These fees are assessed by the destination country's customs authority and are paid by the recipient (or the seller, depending on your terms).

  • The amount varies by country, product type, and declared value, Zendrop has no control over these charges.

Tell your international customers at checkout that additional duties or taxes may apply on delivery. This prevents disputes and chargebacks from unexpected fees.

How to factor fees into your pricing

  • U.S. store: Your Zendrop shipping cost already accounts for tariffs, no adjustment needed. Just make sure your retail price covers product cost + shipping cost + your margin.

  • EU store: Add $3.80 to your cost-per-order calculation when setting retail prices for EU customers.

  • Global store: Build a buffer into international pricing to account for variable local duties. Consult a tax professional familiar with your key destination markets.
