Tracking numbers go quiet for a reason, and it's rarely a lost package. Carrier detection failures, customs clearance, and transit hand-offs all cause gaps. Here's how to diagnose the issue, fix it fast, and know when to contact Zendrop.
Why your tracking number goes dark
A few things cause tracking to stop updating:
The tracking site didn't detect the right carrier automatically.
Logistics delays, customs clearance, or carrier serviceability issues created a temporary gap.
The package hasn't been scanned at the next facility yet. Tracking typically updates within 24–48 hours of reaching a new transit point.
High shipping volumes or carrier hand-offs interrupted the update feed.
How to fix a tracking number that isn't working
If the Zendrop tracking link isn't showing results, run the tracking number through a universal tool:
17Track.net supports most carriers Zendrop uses.
Track718 is a solid alternative if 17Track.net doesn't pull results.
If neither tool shows movement, contact Zendrop support. Zendrop pulls delivery confirmation directly from the last-mile courier, including their name, tracking number, and contact details, to help locate the shipment or resolve a dispute.
Note
When you contact support, include your order number, tracking number, and a quick description of the issue (e.g., no updates for 3 days, wrong destination showing). This gets your case resolved faster.
Why tracking goes quiet mid-transit
Gaps between scans are normal. Here's what causes them:
Freight forwarder hand-offs. Some couriers only update tracking when a package reaches specific transit points, so gaps between scans are expected.
Your order shipped recently. If it's been less than 1–2 business days, wait before contacting support.
Customs clearance. Packages aren't scanned again until they're released and handed off to the next carrier.
Carrier serviceability issues. Some destinations experience delays if carriers reduce or suspend service temporarily.
When to contact Zendrop support
If any of these apply, reach out:
Tracking hasn't updated in more than 3 business days after shipment confirmation.
The tracking number looks incorrect or belongs to a different shipment.
You can't access order details in Zendrop.
Tracking shows delivered, but your customer never received the package.
Reach out via the in-app messenger in the bottom-right corner of your Zendrop dashboard. The faster you flag it, the faster it gets resolved.
