Why Was My Fulfillment Declined on Shopify?

Shopify fulfillment declined? here's why and how to resolve it.

Updated over 2 months ago

We understand it can be frustrating when a fulfillment request is declined, but don’t worry! This usually means some manual adjustments need to be made within your Zendrop account. Resolving this is quick and easy, and we’re here to guide you through the process.

Why Does My Fulfillment Keep Getting Declined?

If you're attempting to fulfill an order through Shopify and it gets declined, the best course of action is to log into your Zendrop account and manually fulfill the order. There are a few common reasons why this may happen, and we’ll walk you through each one.

Common Reasons for Fulfillment Declines & How to Fix Them:

No Payment Method Added

If you don’t have a credit card saved on Zendrop, we won’t be able to process the order.

Solution:
Follow these simple steps to add a payment method:

  • Go to your Zendrop dashboard

  • Click on the user profile drop-down menu at the top right corner of the page.

  • Select "Billing" from the menu options.

  • Click on the "Add Payment" option.
Once you’ve added a card, you should be able to fulfill the order smoothly.

Item Not Linked

Your item must be properly linked to a product in your Zendrop account to fulfill the order.

Solution:
Ensure the item is linked in Zendrop, and then try fulfilling the order again. If it's not linked, fulfillment won’t be possible. Here's how to link items: Linking Products.

Item Not in Zendrop’s Catalog

If the product you're trying to fulfill isn’t listed in Zendrop’s catalog, it needs to be sourced first.

Solution:
Submit a Sourcing Request for the item through Zendrop before attempting to fulfill the order. Once it’s sourced and available, fulfillment can proceed.

Customer’s Payment on Hold in Shopify

If your customer’s payment is on hold within Shopify, fulfillment will be declined.

Solution:
Check the payment status in Shopify. Once the payment is processed and no longer on hold, you can fulfill the order on Zendrop.

Item Out of Stock on Zendrop

If the item is out of stock in Zendrop, fulfillment won’t go through.

Solution:
Check the product’s stock status on Zendrop. If it’s out of stock, you will need to consider an alternative product. Click here for more: Zendrop Inventory, How Does It Work?

Order Already Processing

If the order is already being processed on Zendrop, requesting fulfillment again will be declined.

Solution:
No need to worry! Once the order is shipped through Zendrop, the status will automatically update in Shopify, so there’s no need for further action on your part.
