There are two scenarios where a user may have 0 products currently linked and still receive a charge:
Tier Commitment
Users can choose to commit to a minimum billing tier (e.g., $29/month). This works similarly to a subscription plan regardless of usage, the selected tier will be charged each billing cycle.Peak Usage During the Billing Cycle
Billing is based on the highest number of products linked at any point during the billing cycle, not the number of products linked at the time of invoicing.
Example:
• Day 1: User links 25 products
• Day 15: User unlinks all products
• Billing Day: User has 0 products linked
The user will still be billed at the 21–100 product tier ($49) because they utilized that level during the cycle.
Risk-Free Adjustment Window:
During approximately the first 66 hours after a brand-new signup, users can unlink products and adjust tiers without being locked into peak usage. After this window, peak usage is fixed for the remainder of the billing cycle.
When is "$0/month" applicable?
A user will only remain on the free tier if all of the following are true:
• No tier commitment has been selected
• No products have been linked at any point during the current billing cycle
If either condition is not met, charges may apply even if 0 products are currently linked.
